Core flood apparatus
is specifically designed to undertake measurement of damage occurring through
reservoir of drill-in and completion fluids, evaluate clean up chemicals and
stimulation packages.
Test equipment is available in a number of
different configurations including standard and & dual flow. Standard flow
through core cell for basic permeability measurements and damage occurrence in
reservoir squeeze operations low pressure (1500 psi) or high pressure (10000
psi) main core holder units.
The dual flow loop configuration allows
circulation of test fluids across a core face in either overbalance or under
balanced conditions, measurement of fluid invasion through the core plug,
determination of filter cake lift off properties and evaluation of clean up
techniques. Results are used to optimise fluid packages - for example by
selection of suitable material, drawdown conditions and completion fluids.
Materials construction is standard in stainless steel but can be
produced in more resistant alloys to deal with aggressive solutions at high
pressure. Standard construction handles 1 1/2" diameter cores of up to 4"
length.
Reservoir fluid and mud flow is controlled using high pressure
pumps which can be configured to deliver to varying flow specifications as a
cost option on the basic core flood model. |
